Russian reactor builder Atomstroyexport (ASE) has announced that it is merging with the St Petersburg Scientific Research and Design Institute Atomenergoproject (St Petersburg AEP). According to ASE, the merger will enable it to strengthen and expand its engineering competencies and increase its competitiveness as a nuclear power plant constructor at home and abroad. St Petersburg AEP director Leonid Mikhailovich Reznikov has been appointed president of the merged company, which retains the name Atomstroyexport. ASE implements Russian contracts for the construction of nuclear power plants abroad.
