An 180MW industrial uranium-graphite reactor originally designed for plutonium production (above) was shut down in April.rnThe ADE-2 Mining and Chemical Combine reactor was in the formerly secret Siberian city of Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory. The reactor, also known as Gornochimicheski Combinat 3, was commissioned in January 1964. It is the third nuclear power plant built in Russia. Its predecessors, BP (1958) and ADE-1 (1961), which were built only for plutonium production, shut down in 1992.
