摘要

In connection with the events of March 11 in Japan and the problem that emerged of gaining control of power plants in the circumstances, the question arises if it is possible to use Stirling engines as a backup system for a station blackout. Such a system would use the heat generated in the nuclear reactor to power a Stirling engine, which would perform two tasks: transporting heat to a cold sink, and converting some of the energy into mechanical work.
