Chinese nuclear operator CNNC and French vendor Areva have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint post-Fukushima working group to strengthen operation and maintenance, CNNC said. New rules published in November effectively cap the amount of liability to be paid by the operator in the case of a serious accident at an Indian nuclear power plant. The operator would be liable for a maximum of 1,500 crores ($304 million).
