Liquid disposal alternative

In the UK, over thirty years of research by NIREX and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) have been done on deep burial of solid radioactive waste. An alternative would be to pour High Active Liquid (HAL) as a relatively dense dilution in brine down deep boreholes to percolate into non-potable groundwater within host rock. There are years of experience using parts of this technique on land for both active and non-active waste in Russia and the US.
