The Government's eagerly and long-awaited Energy Review outlines proposals aimed at boosting energy saving, renewables and opening the door for nuclear generation. Nuclear generation has a vital role in providing a future of home-produced, carbon-free energy. The Review proposals should produce substantial cuts in carbon emissions, well above those suggested in the Climate Change Review Programme, and nearer to the target of 60% by 2050.
