Mohamed ElBaradei & James Lovelock receive awards

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) director-general Mohamed ElBaradei and pro-nuclear environmentalist James Lovelock both received the World Nuclear Association (WNA) award for Distinguished Contribution to the Peaceful Worldwide Use of Nuclear Technology. The awards were presented at the WNA's 32nd Annual Symposium in London by WNA director-general John Ritch and WNA chairman Ralf Gueldner. Mr ElBaradei told delegates that nuclear energy itself is not a panacea for global energy security, but if plans and expressions of interest coming from many countries come to fruition, it is likely to have an increasing role in the global energy mix.
