C&I systems are utilised extensively in industry, the nuclear industry being no different than anywhere else. The special demands on nuclear systems has however led to tried and tested systems being specified, with many systems being effectively obsolescent by the time they are originally commissioned. This has exacerbated the problems associated with legacy C&I equipment in the nuclear industry.
