A visit to the "hottest place on Earth" might not inspire images of the idyllic Oxfordshire countryside, but this is exactly what a group of eager participants found on a recent Nuclear Institute South East (NISE) visit to Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE) near Oxford.Twenty-three individuals ranging from scientists to students were treated to a tour of the facilities and a behind-the-scenes look at some of the industry-leading research into the development of fusion energy being undertaken by the Culham team.
