The YGN Excellence Prize is awarded to someone who has entered the industry in the last five years and has gone above and beyond the roles required of them. There is a specific emphasis on the individual's achievement to promote the nuclear industry and fulfilment of the YGN objectives. The award, now entering its fourth year, is an attempt to recognise these individuals and their accomplishments over their brief time within the industry. Like many graduates in the nuclear industry I have a background in Physics, having studied it at the University of Edinburgh. During my time there a number of topics stood out to me, one of those being Nuclear Physics. It was my interest in this topic that lead to me to the Graduate Development Framework (GDF) at BAE Systems Maritime -Submarines within the Nuclear Function in September 2012.
