At the Open the Door event for the opening of the chemistry labs at the National College for Nuclear, Women in Nuclear invited Tammi Smith, a quality manager at Sellafield Ltd. Following the event, Smith said: "As a nuclear professional I was very grateful to have been given the opportunity to attend the Open the Door event at the National College for Nuclear. Currently working in quality within the nuclear sector, we are experiencing both a demographic and national skills gap. "Within the Chartered Quality Institute, a 'Nuclear Next Generation' steering group is currently being formulated to tackle this very issue and identify ways to encourage and develop our next generations. It is events like these that help promote all of the good work and effort that we are beginning to place in the young people of today.
