Tele-education Services on High-speed Computer Networks

摘要

This article describes the objectives of tele-education services and the leading services (lecture type, self-learning type, seminar type, and authoring service) offered by the distributed virtual campus, as well as concrete examples of the services. The report is followed by a description of the three basic technologies that support tele-education: (1) Architecture for the distributed multimedia platform (2) Reliable multicast transport protocols for distributed multimedia communications and their implementation approaches (3) High-level logic synthesis system for effectively designing LSIs which is to become the key to the multimedia system.
