摘要

The propagation of high-power radiation of a CO_2 laser in artificial and natural fogs and snowfalls is studied experimentally. We focus on the thermal action on the water aerosol. The clarification of an artificial fog by a ring beam of a high-power CO_2 laser is characterized. The theoretical model correctly describes the features of the clarification process. It is demonstrated that the crosswind plays an important role in blurring the clarification channel created in fog under field conditions. The coefficient of extinction of the radiation of CO_2 laser in wet snow is reported for snowfalls of various intensities.
