摘要

On the basis of complete Maxwell's equations, a dispersion equation is obtained for a ferrite- dielectric-substrate structure tangentially magnetized to saturation, which describes electromagnetic waves propagating normally to the magnetic bias field. It is established that the equations has a number of solutions similar to the surface electromagnetic wave in an isolated dielectric layer and one solution similar to the mag- netostatic surface wave. It is found that, in the presence of magnetic loss in ferrite, the magnetostatic wave is a mixed wave (a surface-bulk wave) in the entire range of its existence rather than a pure surface wave.
