摘要

A universal definition for the coupling coefficient between any two electromagnetic resonators, which extends and improves existing particular definitions, is proposed and substantiated on the basis of the energy approach. This definition enables one to derive formulas for the coupling coefficients for many types of resonators and to study the frequency dispersion of these coefficients. Formulas for the coupling coefficients of an asymmetric pair of microstrip resonators and for an asymmetric pair of tuned circuits with a combined induc- tance-capacitance coupling are obtained.
