In recent years, information communications has been evolving at a rapid pace. Based upon technological innovations and growing sophistication and diversification of user needs, a major movement towards multimedia is now occurring in the convergence of computers and communica- tions, as seen in the rapid growth of LAN and PC communications, as well as in the explosive worldwide growth of the Internet.
