摘要

We have developed novel fluorinated polyimides for optical communication components. They have high optical transparency, controllable refractive indices, high thermal stability, and high moisture resistance. Three kinds of fluorinated polyimides have been developed. FLUPIs are available for optical communica- tion components such as an optical filter substrates, optical waveplates, and optical waveguides FLUPI- CBs have been developed as an optical waveguide material with constant birefringence, and FLUPI-PF has no substantial light absorption peaks in the near-infrared region because it has no carbon-hydrogen bonds.
