THE GLOBAL OUTLOOK FOR NONWOVEN RAW MATERIALS

The global nonwovens industry is currently on the threshold of major structural change and product paradigm shifts influenced by shifts in consumer preference, raw material volatility and global trade patterns. While nonwovens R&D, manufacturing and retailing increased their concentration around the advanced consumer economies in North America, Western Europe and Northeast Asia, newer expansionary forces are emerging. However, despite the changes in trade, emerging nonwovens markets and product innovations, leading nonwovens producers will continue to be impacted by one constant. That constant is the volatility in the petrochemicals chain as global crude oil demand and polymer demand continue to surge.
