Avgol adds third Chinese line

Spunbond fabric manufacturer Avgol is to add a third production line to its operations in China, a move expected to increase the company's annual capacity in the country to 40,000 tonnes. The line will be installed at the plant of Avgol's Chinese partner, Hubei Gold Dragon, with customer supply to begin in June 2012. To facilitate the expansion, Avgol plans to invest between $10.2 million and $12.4 million in the equity of the Chinese partnership. Currently, the Israeli manufacturer operates two production lines in China, supplying approximately 24,000 metric tonnes of finished goods per annum. The second production line began operations in the third quarter of 2010.
