摘要

Austenitic stainless steel tubing used in boiler superheaters and reheaters develops an oxide scale on the inner surface as a result of high temperature steam oxidation. This scaling problem can be solved by shot blasting the inside surface. The oxide scale formed on shot-blasted tubing is 0.1 to 1.3 um thick. On the other hand, the thickness of oxide scale on non-shot-blasted tubing will exceed 150 um under identical operating conditions. This is a clear indication that shot blasting produces a favorable effect. This paper describes the properties of such shot-blasted tubing that was used in a supercritical pressurized boiler for ten years.
