摘要

The austenitic stainless steel boiler tubing used in the superheaters and reheaters of boilers exhibits scale formation on the inner surface of the tubes as a result of high temperature steam oxidation. This problem has been solved by shot-blasting. In this paper the properties of the shot-blasted tubes are shown, which are used in the boiler of the supercritical steam condition for 10 years. The scale formed on the shot-blasted tubing is between 0.1 #mu# m and 1.3 #mu# m thickness and is extremely thin in comparison with the scale of non-shot-blasted tubing which is presumed over 150 #mu# m thickness in similar condition.
