Applications of an effective stress based liquefaction analysis method to engineering problems

摘要

A brief explanation of the effective stress based analysis method LIQCA is given. Simulated results of a simple shear test considering OCR were consistent with published test results. Using soil param- eters thus defined, analyses of the following engineering problems are presented, and the results are briefly summarized: 1)the damage suffered by the Kawagishi-cho apartment house during the 1964 Niigata Earthquake; 2)the foundation of a 20000 kl oil storage tank stiffened using the gravel drain Method, and 3)embankments with and without steel sheet pile wall support.
