Iggy pop is one of rock's most glori-ous contradictions: a punk gentleman, As the afternoon sun fades outside his New York City apartment, he lights the room with candles. He's got a giant, floor-standing brass holder that looks like something from the Mad Hatter tea party, and elegant sconces on the wall. The faint candlelight, mixed with the deepening dusk, obscures his face, but as he nears 50, he wears his statesmanship well.
