In his 1970 memoir, New York Knicks star Dave DeBusschere tells a story about how his teammate Bill Bradley once came to a Christinas party dressed, for no apparent reason, as a priest. "Every now and then," DeBusschere writes with some prescience, "our future president tapped a guest on the back and said, 'Excuse me, but I'm ready to take your confession now'." Another teammate told the perpetually disheveled star, only half in jest, "Man, that's the first time I've ever seen you in a clean collar."
