The injection molding process is an economic production technology for the medium or large scale manufacturing of components for microsystems. Microstructured precision products made of thermoplasts are injection molded with minimal wall thicknesses of 20 μm, structural details down to 0,2 μm or aspect ratios of 20 and more in a minimum cycle time of 4 minutes. Metal or ceramic microstructures are produced by powder injection molding followed by debindering and sintering.
