摘要

In May 2005, Stage One of the first major rail project in Auckland for 30 years was completed by Ontrack at a cost of $22.5 million. The Western Line double-tracking is a key component of a larger programme by ARTA (Auckland Regional Transport Authority) to enhance the Auckland commuter rail network. The project will be undertaken in a series of key stages chosen to minimise disruption to rail passengers whilst maintaining the necessary momentum to complete the works in as short a period as possible. Duplication from Boston Road to Morningside was achieved 3 months ahead of the original schedule and $0.7 million under budget. The Project Manager was Andrew Quinn of Arrow International Ltd.
