In the Down at the Station section of Observer 360 it was reported that the much touted proposal, to run two fast trains from Hamilton to Auckland each morning and return in the evening, will commence in August.The current plan is to terminate this train at Papakura with passengers for onward stations and thence to the city being required to change to one of Auckland Transport's 'slow' EMU trains, thereby suffering another 13 stops to reach central Auckland, and taking a total of 2 hours 27 minutes to do so.
