A Tale of Two Signal Boxes Part Two-Taita

Riding an Upper Hutt-bound Ganz Mavag unit, I took the 10km journey from Petone to Taita station, home of arguably the most interesting signal box on the Kiwirail network, and also one of the least documented. Located in an upstairs annex as part of the otherwise disused station building, it is the only one of its kind in New Zealand. Some may not regard it as a true signal box for this reason; rather as a signal cabin.
