Research Notes #176 -The Early Stations ofOnehunga

The railway between Auckland and Onehunga is once more in the news with the inauguration of the new electric multiple units (EMUs) in public service on the line. These run over the recently rebuilt and rejuvenated branch line between Penrose and Onehunga, which includes a new station at the end of the line. It is fitting that these new trains are introducing a new era of train travel to Auckland, travelling over the same line of railway which introduced train travel to Aucklanders back in December 1873.
