Auckland's Electric Multiple Units

In April electric multiple units (EMUs) will start running between Britomart and Onehunga. Albert Bossward, an engineer with Auckland Transport, details the engineering aspects of these units built by Construccionnes y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) in Spain. The CAF-built EMUs are high specification modern suburban trains that conform to or exceed best international and New Zealand practice of manufacture and performance.
