In an age where online shopping has become increasingly popular, we are witnessing the comeback of the bricks and mortar store. One of the challenges facing retailers is to upskill their salespeople to a level capable of satisfying the increasing information demands of the tech savvy shopper. Today's in-store consumers are very well informed and have instant access to product data, best pricing and reviews via their mobile devices. Consumers are choosing to verify their purchase choice in-store, try on items they have selected online, touch the product and receive instant gratification via immediate collection of the goods purchased. According to A.T. Kearney's Omnichannel Shopping Preferences Guide; "Physical stores are clearly customers' preferred shopping channel and a place where the most significant consumer and retailer value continues, and will continue, to be created."
