Walking in adventure wonderland

Prior to moving to here, American life and business partners Brittany Jordt and Colin Frater saw New Zealand as an exciting "adventure wonderland" -hardly surprising, because that's exactly how it's sold to the North American market. They drooled over classic images of the Waitomo caves, the Southern Alps, Hobbiton and Lord of the Rings vistas, seeing it as a playground for mountain-bikers, cross-country runners, hikers and campers alike. The couple were into the great outdoors big-time and couldn't wait to get here. Arriving in Auckland in 2013 on a working holiday, they expected to easily connect with all those activities. Sadly that wasn't the case.
