Eiken Industries Co., Ltd. and Toho Gas Co., Ltd. have jointly developed a highly efficient heat exchanger Micon Booster BS450 that supplies highly heated water to commercial diningware cleaners by the immersed pipe system. The booster is a device that heats water and supplies hot water to diningware washing machines. Normally heat exchangers adopt the water piping method of passing water through pipes, but this time, copper fins were built into a square pipe to pass combustion through the pipe and to heat the pipe surface. By this, the heating efficiency has been improved by 30% and the heating rate by about 40%, while the temperature of the exhaust gas has been lowered from the usual 250℃ to about 190℃ which improves the working environments inside kitchens.
