An alternative history of the Earth

Earth and Jupiter may have grown up into very different adults, but as an infant Earth would have looked like a smaller version of the giant planet. This is the controversial conclusion of two American geochemists who say they can deduce the Earth's early history from studies of ratios of isotopes of helium and neon in the planet's interior.
