Children absorb more information from television than from the printed word, according to Dutch psychologists. The researchers suggest that schoolteachers could make better use of TV in the classroom. Previous studies have shown that adults are better at taking in printed information than the same information presented on television. But Juliette Walma van der Molen and Tom van der Voort of Leiden University now suggest that the opposite is true in children.
