The regulations on social distancing in the UK have caused the widespread closure of schools and higher education institutions, with much outreach work hindered. At a time when young people who are most disadvantaged need support and guidance more than ever, it is imperative that organisations small and large are innovative and use their resources to still make the difference, ensuring that the work on improving diversity and inclusion in the science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) sector does not roll backwards.
