Autoinjector gives antidote to poison attack

A DEVICE could soon automatically protect soldiers from attacks with rapidly-acting chemical agents such as fentanyl, by injecting an antidote as soon as it is needed. The US Army project, organised by the Corps of Engineers, which is headquartered in Washington DC, comprises two elements. The first is a wearable monitor that can check the userforopioid intoxication, and the second is a device that automatically injects an antidote. The ultimate aim is for the device to be able to distinguish other fast-acting toxins besides opioids, such as nerve gases, and dispense the relevant antidotes, according to funding documents.
