FUTURE LEADERS

Launched in 2009, the Young Laureates Programme is a major extension of the Rolex Awards for Enterprise. Designed to foster innovation in the next generation, it encourages people aged between 18 and 30 to pursue original and dynamic projects that address challenges in science and health, cultural preservation, the environment, exploration and applied technology. The Awards provide the five winners with US$50,000 each over two years, helping them to advance their projects and gain the experience to become tomorrow's leaders. They also become active members of the Rolex Awards community, with access to former laureates and all their knowledge and connections. In this way, the Young Laureates Programme provides the perfect complement to the Rolex Awards for Enterprise and its goal of supporting pioneering individuals. Here, we meet the winners of the 2010 Rolex Young Laureates Programme.
