The substance at the heart of worldwide concerns about climate change is more beautiful than most people realise.rnInspired by the central role of carbon dioxide in the living economy of the planet, through the process of photosynthesis, James Huse, who has just graduated from Kingston University in the UK, wanted to find a way to portray the compound in a more flattering light.rnHe spotted his opportunity on a visit to London's Science Museum. There, in one of the exhibits that form part of its Launchpad gallery, little pieces of solid carbon dioxide - otherwise known as dry ice - drop into water and zoom around on its surface, creating striking patterns, as shown here.
