An australian entrepreneur called Craig Wright has spent the past few months trying to prove that he is someone hitherto known as Satoshi Nakamoto. Last week he abandoned his quest, but it is still important to reveal who Satoshi really is. Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonym of the presumed creator of bitcoin, a digital currency that is essentially a form of virtual cash. Wright hired a PR firm to sell himself to the BBC, the Economistand GQ as Satoshi, and set up an elaborate proof demonstration in a London hotel room. He also wrote a blog post setting out his claim.
