Freeview, the UK digital-terrestrial television consortium, is grappling with how best to communicate to consumers that they will not necessarily receive the full package of its channels because of a coverage deficit. While the public service broadcasters will provide their main channels on digital terrestrial to 98.5 per cent of the population once switchover is completed, channels on the commercial multiplexes are expected to reach only about 90 per cent.
