BSkyB takes tough line in Warner Brothers movie deal

BSkyB is looking to drastically reduce the amount it pays US studio Warner Brothers as the two companies negotiate a new output deal for films on pay television. Of all the US majors it is Warner Brothers, whose titles include the Harry Potter and Batman series, which is widely regarded as having the most lucrative deal with BSkyB. The present agreement ends in December. BSkyB is understood to have sent an offer to the studio outlining that it wants a 50-per-cent cut in the fees it pays for Warner films.
