More doctoral training centres announced

The Government is to commit £500million to establishing a further 22 Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs). The investment will help to train 1100 postgraduates in engineering and science subjects. The move brings the number of EPSRC-funded centres announced since last November to 113. According to Chancellor George Osborne: "A forward looking, modern industrial strategy is part of our long term economic plan to deliver security, jobs and growth to all parts of the UK. 0ur£500m investment in CDTs will inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers, ensuring Britain leads the world in high-tech research and manufacturing."
