Packman Lucas blames adviser as B of the Bang row rumbles on

Packman Lucas, lead structural consultant of Manchester's B of the Bang sculpture, is taking specialist adviser Flint & Neill Partnership to court over the troublesome structure, it was revealed to NCE in legal papers this week. The 56m high structure, built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games, had to be cordoned off from the public in 2005 after spikes became detached. Manchester City Council (MCC) announced that it was taking the design team to court for £2M in October last year in a last attempt to remedy the defects in the structure (NCE_1 November).
