South Korea mega link nears completion

South Korea's Busan-Geoje fixed link mega-project (NCE 15 January)is now 75% complete.rnThe 8.2km link includes the world's deepest immersed tunnel as well as a three-pylon cable-stayed bridge and a two-pylon cable-stayed bridge whose height has now reached 143m above sea level -just 15m short of its final height.rnIn addition there are 1.9km of approach bridges and 1km of bored tunnel. The 3.2km immersed tube tunnel will carry traffic at a depth of up to 48m below sea level, avoiding the container shipping route above.
