Church Village Bypass

摘要

At the time of construction, the Church Village bypass in South Wales was the largest highways project being delivered by a local authority in the UK. The £9oM project comprises of 6.5 km of single carriageway, 3km of side roads, four roundabouts, two overbridges, two cattle creeps, one pedestrian/equestrian underpass, three footbridges, nine major culverts, significant utilities diversions, major mine treatment works and three areas of soil nailing. The road passes through three old landfill sites, one of which contained 300,000 tyres and 80,000m~3 of Pulverised Fuel Ash (PFA).
