UP HILL AND DOWN DALE

An ex-military vehicle, a digger designed for use on Alpine ski lifts and specialist rope access training for cable layers have all played a part in an innovative project to move power cables underground in south west England. Morgan Sindall is working with civils subcontractor MJ Church on the £116M Dorset Visual Impact Provision scheme. It involves removing 22 pylons from the landscape to transform views of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in West Dorset close to the village of Winterbourne Abbas.
