WWW MIDDLEWARE AND GATEWAY TECHNOLOGIES

These days, many users begin to access to WWW from mobile computers. Since those mobile computers vary in their bandwidth and displays, WWW servers need to provide contents customized for each mobile computer. This paper introduces some of the NEC's technologies; "Contents Conversion Proxy Server" which converts the existing WWW contents into the ones appropriated for mobile computers, "Multi-View System" which can be displayed on both PCs and mobile computers, and "Personalized Information Delivery Middleware" which enables service providers to construct WWW services for mobile computers easily by combining software components.
