摘要

In recent years, dense wavelength division multiplexing, which enables large transmission capacity and long distance transmission, has attracted the attention of the world wide markets. NEC has developed the DWDM(Dense Wave-length Division Multiplexing) featuring maximum 80Gbit/s transmission capacity which can meet the market's demands. This system converts maximum 32 channels of 2.5Gbit/s optical signals into signals for the DWDM and multiplexes them at 100GHz intervals. After that, it also enbloc amplifies and sends them to transmission line of single-mode fiber. Maximum 4 optical transmission line repeaters can be mounted on optical transmission line. Transmission distance is 80km per span and maximum transmission distance is 400km per 5 spans.
