Military spouses: Don't miss out on this new benefit. You can apply for reimbursement of up to $500 in costs for professional relicensing and recertification each time you relocate with your service member. And it's retroactive. Spouses of military members of all ranks can be reimbursed for costs for getting relicensed/recertified in their profession after they move to a new state because of their service member's permanent change of station. Spouses can apply for reimbursement each time they move. The benefit is retroactive for PCS moves where orders were received on or after Dec. 12, 2017, as part of a pilot program authorized by law through Dec. 31, 2022. (Proposals are pending which would extend the program for an extra two years, and increase the maximum reimbursement to $1,000.)
